Accessibility statement

1.Our commitment

We work to make the website openow.app and the app accessible in line with the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013, and Israeli Standard IS 5568, which adopts the WCAG 2.0 guidelines at level AA. We build to the current version of the guidelines, WCAG 2.2 at level AA.

OPEN is a digital service only. We have no branch, reception or physical service point open to the public, so this statement covers the website and the app.

2.What is accessible on the website

• Keyboard navigation: every link, button and field can be reached with the Tab key, and the current position is marked with a visible outline.
• A "Skip to main content" link at the top of every page, revealed on the first Tab press.
• A standard page structure for screen readers: ranked headings, marked navigation and content regions, and a text description for every image and icon that carries meaning.
• A business status is never shown by colour alone: every status also has a word and a shape, so someone who cannot tell green from red still reads it correctly.
• Contrast: every text and background pair was measured and meets a ratio of at least 4.5 to 1.
• Text can be enlarged to 200% in the browser without content being cut off or hidden.
• Reduced motion: anyone who has set a reduce-motion preference in their operating system sees no animation on the site.
• Form fields are labelled, and error messages are written in words and read out by screen readers.

3.The accessibility menu

At the bottom corner of every page there is an accessibility button. It opens a menu that lets you enlarge the text, raise the contrast, underline links and stop animations. Your choices are stored in your browser only and are never sent to us.

The menu is a convenience. The accessibility of the site does not depend on it: everything in the previous section holds with the menu closed.

4.The app

The Android and iPhone app is built with the accessibility tools of both platforms, so the TalkBack and VoiceOver screen readers recognise its buttons and fields. In the app too, a status is never shown by colour alone, and every animation stops when a reduce-motion preference is set.

A full screen-by-screen accessibility audit of the app has not been completed yet. We update this section with every release.

5.What is not fully accessible yet

We would rather say plainly what is missing than promise that everything is perfect:

• The live map is a graphical component, and a screen reader cannot describe where the businesses sit on it. Every business on the map also appears in the list beneath it, with its status, and every pin on the map is a button carrying the business name and status.
• Photos uploaded by business owners are described by the business name, not by what the picture shows. We have no way of knowing what is in them.
• Third-party pages we link to, such as the app stores, are not under our control.

6.How we tested

The site was tested by full keyboard navigation and with automated checking tools, in the current versions of Chrome, Safari and Firefox, on desktop and phone. The last test was run on 22.09.2026.

8.Updating this statement

This statement is updated whenever anything in it changes, and at least once a year. The date at the top of the page is the date of the last update.
